Richmond Hill Mayor Russ Carpenter presented Community Pillar awards to Janice Anderson and Mary Stafford at the council's meeting last week.
This award honors citizens who have provided service to the City of Richmond Hill and shown dedication to the betterment of our local community.
In his presentation Carpenter said, "There was work, hard work, years before we became the fastest growing community in Georgia."
He praised both award recipients who have served in numerous capacities in our community, saying "when you hear the term pillar of the community, these two ladies come to mind."
