The Great Richmond Hill & Bryan County Christmas Home Decorating Contest is here, City Clerk Dawnne Greene announced.

All contestants --city and south county ---wishing to participate should contact Richmond Hill City Hall at (912) 756-3345 to be added to the participant list. The city will need your name, address, phone number and subdivision (if applicable).

The deadline to call and register is Thursday, December 12 at 5 p.m. The participants will be announced through Facebook on Friday, December 13.

Judging will begin after December 14, and all winners for both the City of Richmond Hill and South Bryan County will be announced on December 18.

Homes will be judged on the following categories:

- Most Original
- Most Creative Use of Lights
- Best Use of Inflatables
- "The Griswold Award"
- Judges Choice
- Best Animated Yard

This year there will be a people's choice award for the first time. There will be a voting link on Facebook once the participants have been determined. When you tour the light displays with your friends and family this holiday season, let them know which one is your favorite
