Church to hold 'Back to School Splash'
Back to school splash

Spirit of Peace Lutheran Church is sending the community back to school in style with their free “Back to School Splash” event on Saturday, Aug. 7 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Parishioners and all community members alike are welcome to visit the church at 15985 Ga. Highway 144 in Richmond Hill for a day full of fellowship, good food, games, and water activities.

This special event will include a bounce house, wading pools, a splash pad, water balloons, and outdoor games – such as bean bag toss, sidewalk chalk and bubbles – for the kids. Spirit of Peace will provide free popsicles, and the “Let’s Taco Bout It” food truck will be set up so patrons can choose to purchase lunch while enjoying some family time. Admission to the event is free.

“We are delighted to host this event, open to all the community, as we head back to school. After the uncertain and exhaustive year and a half we’ve all just endured, we believe that everyone deserves a little bit of fun,” Spirit of Peace Pastor Devin Strong said. “This event is a way for our church to take a more active role in our community and provide a source of joy and camaraderie. We invite everyone in the community to come join us!”

Spirit of Peace Lutheran Church’s mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through ministry, promoting a lifestyle of worship and loving service through word and prayer so that all of God’s children will know Christ’s transforming joy.
