Update: A second version of the statement. 

“In the interests of the residents of Bryan County,  Bryan County Commission Chairman Carter Infinger, Pembroke Mayor Judy Cook, and Richmond Hill Mayor Russ Carpenter are committed to doing what's right for the community's citizens with minimal cost to taxpayers. They will work in the spirit of collaboration and cooperation, with an eye on future projects that benefit the county and both municipalities, thus ensuring preparedness, economic strength and an excellent quality of life for all Bryan County residents. All parties look forward to a productive and open working relationship going forward.”


Bryan County Commission Chairman Russ Carpenter and Richmond Hill Mayor Russ Carpenter issued a "joint statement" on Tuesday following the city's recent lawsuit against the county over taxes. 


"In the interests of the residents of Bryan County, the City of Richmond Hill and the City of Pembroke, we are committed to doing what's right for the community's citizens with minimal cost to taxpayers. We will work in the spirit of collaboration and cooperation, with an eye on future projects that benefit the county and both municipalities, thus ensuring preparedness, economic strength and an excellent quality of life for all Bryan County residents. We both look forward to a productive and open working relationship going forward."
