Verizon Wireless recently announced that it has expanded its 4G Long Term Evolution network in the Savannah area on Dec. 15.
With the network expansion, residents with 4G LTE devices in Richmond Hill, Pembroke, Skidaway, Whitemarsh, Wilmington and Tybee Islands, Garden City, Rincon, Springfield, Guyton, Midway and Hinesville will be able to take advantage of the nation’s fastest 4G network with speeds up to 10 times faster than Verizon Wireless’ 3G network.
As of Nov. 17, Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network was available in 179 markets across the country and supports 16 4G LTE-enabled devices.
“The speed and connectivity provided by our 4G LTE network is revolutionizing the way our customers communicate,” said Jonathan LeCompte, president of the Georgia/Alabama region of Verizon Wireless.
“We were excited to launch this innovative new technology in Savannah … and look forward to bringing 4G LTE to even more area residents in just a few short weeks.”
