Uptown Deli finds new home

Uptown Deli has found a new home in Richmond Hill. The sandwich shop is now located at 2591 Highway 17, Suite 102 in the Spier-Brogdon Building, the former home of What’s the Scoop?.

Patrons can expect new menu items, new hours and a brand new look.

“We’re excited about the move and the new opportunities for Uptown,” said owner Jennifer Shimalla.

In addition to adding breakfast sandwiches, bagels and a line of coffee, the deli will carry gluten-free bread and pastries. Shimalla said a new sandwich to debut will be the “Hudson River.” She said it’s for people with super-sized appetites.

The Shimallas seized this opportunity to make a few other changes to coincide with the move. The restaurant’s website is currently being redesigned, and a new logo was recently introduced.

“One of the best parts of the move will be our ability to better accommodate the lunchtime crowds,” Shimalla said. “This location has a ton of parking in front and back to accommodate our busy lunchtime.”

In addition to a more open layout, outdoor seating will be available.

A grand re-opening ribbon cutting is expected after the first of the year.
