The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Oct. 18 for Into the Sun Tanning Salon at 21 Isle of Wight Road, Suite E in Midway.

Joey Prince, membership coordinator, introduced owner Kimberly Willard and her staff. Midway City Clerk Lynette Cook-Osborne welcomed Willard on behalf of the city. Kathy Villafane, Chamber board member, offered support to Willard on behalf of the board and staff.

Willard has owned the shop for a few months and said she jumped into revitalizing the salon brand with many ideas for the future after moving it to the new location.

"We are so excited to expand the salon beyond just tanning. We now offer red-light therapy as an alternative for those who may tan for medical reasons such as acne or psoriasis," Willard said. "We’ve also brought in merchandise from a local retailer that just happens to be a native of Liberty County."
