State tax revenues jump 16 percent in year

Gov. Nathan Deal recently announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for January totaled nearly $2.57 billion, for an increase of $368.2 million, or 16.7 percent, compared to last year when net tax collections totaled $2.2 billion. Year-to-date, net tax collections totaled $13.87 billion, for an increase of $812.9 million, or 6.2 percent, over January 2017, when net tax revenues totaled roughly $13.06 billion.
