Richmond Hill’s newest and veterinary clinic, Coastal Georgia Veterinary Care, is now open and accepting patients.
Led by Dr. Karen O’Connor, Coastal Georgia Veterinary Care is dedicated to delivering full-service treatment in a spa-like, nurturing environment.
“At Coastal Georgia Veterinary Care, our professional and relaxing atmosphere will provide a one-of-a kind experience for clients and patients alike,” said O’Connor. “We look forward to offering Coastal Georgia in our state-of-the-art facility.”
Both a former military and corporate veterinarian, O’Connor received her Bachelor of Science in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University, summa cum laude, in 2000 and went on to receive her Veterinary Medicine Doctoris from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.
O’Connor immediately began her work in veterinary medicine with the U.S. Army Medical Department, U.S. Army Veterinary Corps at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield and Parris Island, S.C., where she managed three military veterinary hospitals and one stray animal facility and provided support to more than 8,000 animals.
In 2006, O’Connor became an associate veterinarian at a large corporate practice in Savannah. Most recently, she served as veterinarian for the Savannah/Chatham Humane Society, where she performed surgeries and made medical recommendations for all adoptable pets while also managing and containing infectious disease for the overall wellbeing of the animals there.
She is a current member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Association and past member of the National Association of Federal Veterinarians. O’Connor is also the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal among her many achievements.
Located in Suite 4 of 100 Timber Trail Road, Coastal Georgia Veterinary Care is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
