SAVANNAH — Richard Barid, Richmond Hill resident and cofounder of Smith Barid LLC in Savannah, recently snagged the title of one of Georgia Trend’s “Legal Elite” for 2011.
The statewide economic development and politics magazine compiled the ninth annual listing through peer selection in several recognized practice areas. Barid was selected in the “Taxes, Estates, & Trusts” practice area.
The list, which appears in the magazine’s December issue, was determined by lawyers’ votes.
“I am thankful to have been selected by a jury of my peers for this great honor,” Barid said. “My New Year’s resolution is to keep practicing law in the same manner that has earned the respect of my peers.”
Barid has practiced in Savannah for more than 15 years and founded his current firm, along with partner Michael H. Smith, in 2006. Barid’s practice focuses on estate planning, elder law (Medicaid and VA benefits matters) and special-needs planning.
