Home health CEO honored

THA Group president and CEO Ellen B. Bolch recently received the AWWIN 2011 Monica La Rue Award. AWWIN (Assisting Working Women in Need) annually bestows this accolade on a woman who employs five or more women while continuing to motivate and inspire women to pursue their dreams and visions.
The recipient is selected by the AWWIN board of directors.
Bolch and other award recipients will be honored at a gala May 13 at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum.
AWWIN Inc. is a 501(c)(3), publicly supported organization designed to assist single working women and their children. In the past nine years, AWWIN has assisted more than 450 families in Savannah and the Coastal Empire. Its vision is to ensure that single, working women become self-sufficient, utilizing existing community resources as a vehicle of hope to transform their lives and ensure a prosperous legacy for themselves and their children.
THA Group is a family of companies comprised of Island Health Care, Independent Life at Home, Ideal Aging and Island Hospice (a not-for-profit 501(c)(3). It was the first home-health company in the Coastal Empire and Low Country to implement telemonitoring as a standard of care.
THA Group, which is also located in Richmond Hill, has been locally owned and operated for more than 15 years and currently employs more than 170 women.
