Real estate sales at The Ford Plantation in Richmond Hill showed improvement in 2010 over 2009 results, despite an overall downturn in the national economy and the local real estate market, according to its developers.
Total sales of homes and lots for 2010 exceeded 2009 sales, with the number of transactions increasing by 25 percent, and overall sales volume increasing by more than 100 percent.
“We’re delighted that buyers have demonstrated such strong confidence in The Ford Plantation, particularly during challenging economic times,” said Bill Weil, club president. “We fully expect real estate sales for 2011 at The Ford Plantation to be even stronger.”
The Ford Plantation is a luxury community and private sporting club overlooking the scenic Ogeechee River. In addition to its Main House – the former winter home of Henry and Clara Ford – the club’s award-winning amenities include an acclaimed Pete Dye golf course, a deepwater private marina, a member clubhouse with fine and casual dining, an equestrian center, more than 10 miles of trails, coastal sport fishing, stocked natural lakes, tennis, a fitness center, pools, canoeing, kayaking, walking and hiking trails and a full-service day spa.
Travel + Leisure Golf has repeatedly recognized The Ford Plantation as one of “America’s Top 100 Golf Communities.” Town & Country magazine also named The Ford Plantation one of the “top seven safe havens in the country,” spotlighting enclaves that offer an outstanding quality of life and exceptional amenities.
“The Ford Plantation is a very special place to call home,” said Weil. “It is truly one of the finest private communities along the East Coast.”
