STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University, Georgia Tech Savannah’s Advanced Technology Development Center and the Creative Coast are hosting the fifth annual FastPitch Competition from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. March. 28 at 1375 Chatham Parkway in Savannah.
The competition is designed for students, academics and local entrepreneurs to pitch ideas in front of established entrepreneurs and local businesses.
Participants must submit a first-stage application; qualified participants then will submit a full executive summary of their pitch. Necessary training and coaching for the competition will be provided. Contestants will make a three-minute presentation in front of a three-judge panel and prospective investors of their idea on the day of the competition.
Prizes in the form of money and services will be awarded to the winning pitches. The outright winner will win $6,000.
“An entrepreneur’s dream can come true in three minutes,” said Luke Pittaway, FastPitch organizer and director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and Leadership at GSU. “Our past participants have really benefited for this opportunity, especially the coaching section, which prepares them for the future.”
