Bryan County Schools awarded emergency connectivity grant funding
Bryan County Schools

Bryan County Schools applied for and was awarded $206,000 through the Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) Program.

The ECF program administered by Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) with oversight from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), assists schools in keeping students and staff connected during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing funds to cover the cost of eligible equipment used to provide access to remote learning.

The grant funding will allow Bryan County Schools to purchase 700 iPads for Kindergarten students across the district to engage in learning.

“We are thankful for the additional funding provided through this grant opportunity. The iPads will allow our Kindergarten students to participate in learning both inside and outside the classroom.” stated Dr. Paul T. Brooksher, Superintendent of Bryan County Schools.

Bryan County Schools has applied for an additional $2.6 million dollar ECF Program Grant to provide Chromebooks for 1st – 12th grade students and is anxiously awaiting a decision.
