Brooksher among panelists at online leadership session

Bryan County School Superintendent Dr. Paul Brooksher will be among the speakers at Georgia Tech Savannah’s virtual Leaders and Learners session set for Oct. 8.

The online program will focus on public education in a pandemic, and is slated for 8:9:30 a.m. and is free to all participants, though registration is required.

Virtual attendees will also hear from Dr. Lizanne DeStefano, executive director of CEISMC at Georgia Tech; Dr. M. Ann Levett, superintendent of Savannah- Chatham County Public School System; and Dr. Yancy Ford, superintendent of Effingham County Schools. Each will speak about their experiences with holding classes on a variety of different platforms and the planning that went into each system’s approach for dealing with COVID-19. A Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit written questions that may be posed to the panelists by the program facilitator if time permits.

“Leadership is always essential in education, and it is particularly important in times of crisis. I think participants will be interested to hear from the three area superintendents about what factors shaped their decisions and how they’ve utilized the resources available to deliver instruction,” DeStefano said CEISMC said.
