Two brothers were involved in an altercation in the 400 block of Ruby Drive in Ellabell shortly after 3 pm Tuesday resulting in a stabbing that sent one to the hospital and another to jail.

According to Bryan County Sheriff's Office Det. Dennis Davis, the preliminary investigation shows that one brother threw a brick at the other brother prompting the other to pick up a cross from the yard.

Davis said the victim, identified as Jerron D. Jackson, 24,  hit his brother with the cross, and as he was walking away his brother, identified as Jarvis L. Jackson, 45, stabbed him in the left shoulder possibly puncturing his lung.

The victim was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah where he’s listed in serious but stable condition.

Davis added that the suspect, Jarvis Jackson, at this time will be charged with aggravated assault and is currently being held in the Bryan County jail.
