From Bryan County Sheriff’s Office initial incident reports:
Warrant: A 27-year-old woman was arrested Feb. 20 around 12:39 p.m. after she was stopped on Highway 204 because the tag on her vehicle alerted the deputy that she was wanted in Effingham County. She was taken to the county line and turned over to Effingham authorities there.
Custody dispute: A deputy was called to a North Bryan address around 7:42 p.m. Feb. 20 regarding a man who wanted to report child custody issues between he and his girlfriend. A report was made.
Missing tag: A South Bryan man reported Feb. 20 that the tag was missing from his utility trailer.
Missing tag: Another man reported Feb. 20 his tag was missing.
Civil matter: A South Bryan man reported Feb. 20 he paid a Richmond Hill contractor $3,000 in July 2025 to build a shed but the man never returned to start on it. The man said he has a civil case against the contractor.
Matter of record: Deputies were sent to a local school Feb. 20 regarding “a juvenile, who was on a field trip in Jekyll Island, attempted to eat their lunch and when the juvenile opened their lunch box a zip lock bag containing suspected marijuana was found,” a report said, further noting the “school bus containing the suspected marijuana would be returning to the school shortly.”
Once it got there, the suspected marijuana was confiscated, determined to be real and taken to BCSO for “destruction.”
Matter of record: Deputies were sent to a Richmond Hill address Feb. 20 regarding a possible burglary in progress. They didn’t find one, just an unlocked door.
Custody dispute: A Richmond Hill man reported Feb. 20 he believes the mother of his children took their three kids back to Ohio without letting him know.
Speeding, reckless driving: A deputy clocked a vehicle going north at 100 mph around mile marker 82 on I-95 around 6 p.m. Feb. 21 and made a traffic stop. The driver said he didn’t realize he was going that fast and that he was headed to a Korean BBQ place in Savannah. Another deputy reported he’d clocked the guy going 120 mph near mile marker 801/2. The man was arrested.
Theft by taking: A South Bryan man reported Feb. 21 that his airline app was hacked and some 656,200 of his travel miles worth $6,562 had been cashed out. The man reached out to his airline, they told him he needed a report.
Domestic dispute: A North Bryan woman reported Feb. 21 that her husband came home drunk and kicked in a door. She told BCSO he’s always drunk. Kids were at the house but were upstairs and didn’t witness the incident. The man had left. A report was made.
Damage to property: Deputies were sent to I-16 at the weigh station Feb. 22 regarding a lost bumper. The complainant said he was driving west when “a gust of wind caused the rear bumper of his gray Toyota Camry to detach from the vehicle,” the report said. “(He) advised he was able to safely retrieve the bumper from the roadway and requested that an incident report be completed for documentation purposes.” It was.
Harassment: A North Bryan man reported Feb. 22 he was being harassed. He was told how to take out a court protective order.
Suicide threat: A deputy was sent to a South Bryan address on Feb. 22 regarding a teen who threatened suicide and said she wished her parents and siblings were dead. She was taken to Memorial by EMS.
Suspended license: A man was arrested Feb. 22 on Highway 280 for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped because a patrolling deputy checked his tag number and it showed he shouldn’t be driving.
