BCSO blotter: Fraud, DUIs, lost items

From the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

Identity theft: Woman reports a fraudulent transaction from Oura Ring valued at approximately $540. The complainant advised that she did not make this purchase.

Damage to property: Man reports that a gray pickup truck drove through the ditch and the grass on his property, damaging it.

Theft by taking (misdemeanor): Man reports that a blue Kobalt 6-gallon air compressor valued at approximately $139, along with an older metal gas can of unknown value, had been stolen from his residence. The complainant last saw the items on December 1, 2025.

DUI, reckless driving: Deputy responded to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 119 near Sims Rd. The caller advised that the vehicle nearly struck a deer and flipped. The driver involved was cited for driving under the influence.

Driving with license suspended/revoked: Driver arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Lost/mislaid property: Man reports that he lost a black money bag containing approximately $5,000.00 in his truck while at a convenience store on Hwy 144. The complainant stated he does not know if he knocked it out when he exited or entered his truck upon his arrival at the gas station.

Animal complaint: Man reports that a few of his sister’s dogs have been running around unattended, and have possibly killed some neighbors’ cats across the street. The dogs have become a nuisance around the property. The sister in question stated that she has tried reaching out to various rescues to arrange for the dogs to be picked up, but has been unsuccessful. She stated that they had gotten out of the yard, but she was very unconcerned about this matter. Animal control was contacted; the dogs are set to be retrieved on Tuesday, December 9 by Animal Control.

Civil matter: Deputies respond to a conflict between partners.

Damage to property: Man reports that a rock damaged his car window; he was headed northbound on Coastal Highway when a semi-truck ahead of him kicked a rock up onto his vehicle’s window.
