From the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office reports
July 3: Man reports an unauthorized purchase on his bank statement, of $278 made from an ATM in Pooler. His bank advised him to contact the police for an official report.
July 3: Man reports that $37 had been withdrawn from his wife’s bank account without permission; he suspects that it could have been their son, although the man did not want to press charges.
July 3: Worker reports harassment from a fellow co-worker, during a workplace argument.
July 3: Man reports that someone was calling him, claiming to be from the Bryan County Sheriff ’s Office calling from a blocked phone number in reference to a missed federal court date and that someone in his home had signed for the subpoena. The caller also stated that the complainant was going to be arrested if he did not pay the bond.
July 4: Deputies were dispatched to Bryan County Jail in reference to a lost smartphone which was turned in (a blue Samsung).
July 4: Bryan County Fire Emergency Services responded to a residential structure fire involving two parked vehicles located in the driveway of the residence in question.
July 4: Deputy responds to a domestic incident at a residence. Woman reports that her boyfriend had come to the residence to retrieve his belongings.
She reports that she did not want him to enter the residence, but he came in regardless. Once inside, the woman reports that he pulled her by the hair, struck her in the face and arm, and then threw her to the ground by her hair. She stated that she reached for her phone to call 911, at which point her boyfriend fled the residence in a black 2013 Honda Elantra. A witness stated she observed the man on the porch, walking around, and then leaving the scene. The witness did not see any physical altercation.
July 4: Woman reports that as she was walking her dog in the neighborhood, a white dog (described as a boxer or pitbull) ran towards her. Fearing that dog might run her over, she deployed mace in the direction of the animal to defend herself. Later, a vehicle approached her, where a man was allegedly shouting threats at her dog. The man was revealed to have been the owner of the maced dog. He advised that he has an invisible fence system or similar containment method and is currently working to repair it. He also expressed that he is taking steps to prevent the dog from escaping again. The man also advised he did not make those threats about shooting the woman’s dog and wanted to speak with her.
July 5: Man reports that a woman who follows his gaming channel (via Discord/Tiktok/Snapchat) began to express interest in him and began disparaging his wife. As a result of this behavior, the man and his wife blocked this individual from all of their social media accounts. She remained blocked for several months, before she attempted again to rekindle a friendship.
July 5: A Parkers employee (7530 Hwy 17) reports that he received a complaint from a customer about a man exposing himself outside of the gas station. The offender maintained to the officer that he did not expose himself.He said that he walked into the store to buy a drink and went outside to charge his bike.
July 6: Man reports that on July 4th, his neighbors were shooting off fireworks and one of the fireworks struck the siding of his house. 4 panels were observed with damage. The man explains that this damage was discovered on the 5th of July, when his neighbor informed him that one of the fireworks struck the side of his house resulting in said damage.
July 7: A silver Toyota Corolla was travelling eastbound on Highway 144, going 67 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. The driver did not have a valid license.
July 7: A red Dodge Dart was travelling on SR-25 Southbound going 52 MPH in a posted 35 MPH zone. The driver did not have a license.
July 7: Warrant executed for a man wanted out of Chatham County.
July 7: Deputy responds to a man who found a lost wallet; he believes one of the construction workers near the area might be the owner. The contents of the wallet revealed the name of the owner, who was contacted.
July 7: Woman reports that a tree limb, which had grown over her property from her neighbor’s property, had fallen onto her fence, causing damage.
She further stated that similar incidents have occurred in the past. However, when the issue was brought to the attention of the neighboring property owner, no attempts were made to resolve the matter.
July 7: Deputy responds to an argument between parents over the welfare of a juvenile.
July 8: Warrant executed for a man wanted out of Emanuel County.
July 8: Man reports fraudulent activity on his credit card account. He noticed that there was fraudulent activity occurring when a representative from T-Mobile called and advised him of an overdue balance on his account. He then advised T Mobile he has never had an account with T-Mobile. The representative advised him that the account was opened in Illinois, and the bill was overdue $510.00 dollars.
July 8: Man reports that he lost his registration sticker. He does not remember the last time he saw it, and he did not give anyone permission to use it.
