From the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office reports:
Possession of cocaine: The principal of the alternative school in Richmond Hill (1 Wildcat Drive) called to inform that she found suspected cocaine inside a student’s vehicle. The vehicle belonged to the student’s family, but the student himself did not typically drive it. The student’s stepfather came to the scene to grant consent to search the vehicle; the suspected narcotics and drug-related items were collected as evidence.
Lost/mislaid property: A lost Georgia license plate was reported last seen in March 2024, on top of the owner’s refrigerator. Since then, the refrigerator has been sold, and she has been unable to locate the plate despite searching for it.
Warrant executed: A deputy found a parked car along Hwy 80 with a woman in the front seat who appeared to be asleep; her juvenile son eventually woke her up. When she awoke, she stated that her car broke down and that she was waiting on her husband to arrive from Metter. Dispatch advised she was wanted out of Bryan County for a bench warrant. The woman confirmed that her sister could pick up her two children while she is taken and processed at the BCSO.
Civil matter: Two homeowners advise that the golf course owners and workers have been harassing them. They stated today that the workers/owners parked golf carts on their property (the golf course) but it was in the view of their home. Both homeowners were adamant that there should be bushes or shrubs in the area where they parked the carts at. The duo advised they have reached out to code enforcement but have not heard anything back yet.
Runaway juvenile: Complainant advised that his 17-year-old daughter packed her bags and went to go stay at her boyfriend’s house. The boyfriend’s mom drove to his house to pick up the juvenile. The deputy went to retrieve the daughter and send her back home (as she is still a minor) and ended the encounter with a discussion between parent and child to prevent the same incident from happening again.
Damage to property: Man reports that he struck a tire that was in the roadway, and said the tire damaged the front passenger side tire of his vehicle. AAA came to the scene, and advised the driver that they wouldn’t be able to change any tires due to the angle of the vehicle. They also discovered fluid to be leaking from the vehicle. The man said that he was going to get his vehicle towed.
Damage to property: Man reports that his Georgia License plate was damaged. He explained that the tag was previously on a vehicle on their property and he observed that an unknown party had scratched the entire plate after attempting to remove the registration decal from the tag. The man was unsure of when the damage occurred.
Harassing communications: Woman reports that her husband–whom she is currently separated from–has attempted to contact her and her family so much that she has blocked him on her cellphone. And due to her blocking him, her husband has resorted to contacting their 8-year-old son, making comments that are vulgar in nature, using foul language and defaming her character. The complainant has multiple recordings of this occurring.
Missing person: Deputies were dispatched to a Pilot Truck Stop for a report of a missing person. A woman reports that her daughter left her job at Pilot at 6:30 a.m. and has not been seen or heard from since. She explains that her daughter picks up her son at daycare at around 3 p.m. but hasn’t that day. The woman keeps calling her daughter, but gets no answer. The deputy finds out that the woman’s daughter went with a co-worker to his address.
The deputies found the woman’s car in the co-worker’s driveway; the missing woman answered the door, explaining that she had worked the night shift and overslept. She then stated that she is perfectly safe and she will call her parents and let them know of her whereabouts.
