From Bryan County Sheriff ’s Office incident reports.
Deputies went to the Pembroke Dollar General on Oct. 7 in reference to an agency assist on an armed robbery. There were two individuals who entered the store. One suspect had what appeared to be an AR-15 type rifle. Both suspects were wearing masks and one suspect had gloves on. A K-9 unit performed a track in order to help track down the suspects. It appeared as though the suspects left the Dollar General using the side exit and went behind the Food Lion shopping center. Both suspects are only identified as white males.
(Oct 3) A silver Nissan Altima driving on Highway 280 near Black Creek Road failed to dim their headlights, and was stopped by an officer during a traffic stop on Mill Creek Rd. A DUI was issued for marijuana use while driving.
(Oct 3) A two-vehicle crash occurred on Georgia 30 at Interstate 16. One of the vehicles was a Bryan County Ambulance, so Georgia State Patrol assistance was requested.
(Oct 3) A resident calls to report two stolen kayaks from his private residence and pond. The resident describes the kayaks as being small, approximately 8 ft. in length, one blue and one green. Both kayaks were made by Old Town Kayak.
(Oct 3) Man calls to report damage to his truck, which was parked at the Mega-Site parking lot, while he was at work.
The deputy on-scene suspected one of the many buses that travel the area to transport workers caused the damage.
(Oct 3) Deputy responds to a missing report on Stubbs Ct. A man says that a woman was transported to Memorial Hospital in Savannah but has since escaped and has not been seen since. Deputy provided a case report for the man who called in.
(Oct 3) Deputy responded to the El Cheapo on Hwy 280 in reference to the complainant’s grandson stealing her wallet then running down Hwy 280. The complainant said that her grandson was a white male wearing gray sweatpants and a tank top. She described her wallet as a black Louis Vuitton. The suspect was apprehended near 1416 Harveytown Rd, and subsequently searched and questioned. The suspect claimed that he never had his grandmother’s wallet in his possession.
The complainant refused to press charges, so the suspect was released.
(Oct. 3) A resident living on Frank Edwards Rd. calls to report some juveniles racing in front of his home. The deputy located the dirt bike and four wheelers involved. The juveniles in question contacted their parents who arrived on scene and collected their children.
(Oct 4.) A deputy pulled over a black Acura on I-95 southbound for not having insurance and a suspended registration. The driver was cited and the car was towed.
(Oct. 4) A deputy was dispatched to the area of Highway 280 and Bacontown Rd. in response to a Claxton Police Officer who reported that he had an individual in custody who had active warrants through Bryan County. The suspect was retrieved and sent to the Bryan County Detention Center to be handed over to jail personnel.
(Oct. 5) A deputy responded to an address Ruby Drive in Bryan County, for the report of a male wearing white shorts shooting a gun in the air and yelling. Upon arrival, the deputy located a black male wearing white basketball shorts with blue stripes on the pockets and no shirt leaving Ruby Drive walking onto Wade Carter Road. The deputy attempted to make contact with the man and told him to “come talk to me” when the man stated “why I didn’t do anything.” The deputy told the man again to come talk to me and he took off running on foot. Later that evening, a deputy responded to 218 Toni Branch Road in Bryan County, for the report of an unknown male trying to enter the residents house. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the complainant, whose description of the male attempting to break into her home matched up with the earlier man encountered previously. The complainant advised she did not know the man and he had no permission to be on her property or trying to open her door.
