Bryan County Emergency Services’ annual Walk to Remember is going virtual because of the coronavirus pandemic. “To protect everyone’s safety, BCES made the difficult decision this year to replace Walk to Remember 343 held on September 11th, with a virtual walk to remember,” BCES posted on its social media page.

To participate, select the name of one or more of the 343 FDNY Fallen Firefighters from the list https://nyfd.com/9_11_wtc.html and then walk at least 1 mile for in their remembrance.

Walkers are also encouraged to tag BCES according in their photos and posts and identify who they are walking for.

Photos can be emailed to BCES@bryan-county.org, the social media post said.

“Our goal is to have each participant represent each one of the 343 firefighters during the 1-mile virtual walk,” it continued. “The virtual walk will remind us to never forget those firefighters who died on 9-11-01.”
