Georgia College

Dr. Steve Dorman, president of Georgia College, has awarded degrees to the graduating class of May 2021.

Among them are Kathryn Gillespie and Drew Hawkins of Richmond Hill and Mary Williams of Ellabell.

Georgia Tech

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 4,435 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute’s 260th Commencement exercises May 7-8, 2021, at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Among the graduates are Amanda Worden of Richmond Hill, with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with Highest Honors, and Mason Murphy of Richmond Hill, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Highest Honors.

North Georgia

For the spring 2021 semester, the University of North Georgia awarded more than 1,600 degrees and certificates to graduates. More than 1,100 participated in the spring 2021 commencement ceremonies May 8-9 at the Convocation Center on UNG’s Dahlonega Campus. The ceremonies resembled a mix of traditional elements and socially distant protocols.

Georgia State

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

From Richmond Hill were Zoe Robertson, Connor Cameron, Trinity Williams, Armando Acosta, Oluwatobi Awe, Madeline Castle, Sara Kapheim, Andrew Korn, Jasmin Yi, Keegan Murphy, and DeWayne Johnson of Fort Stewart.

Mar’s Hill

Ethan Wade Lee of Richmond Hill is one of 380 students named to the Honor Roll of the Academic Dean at Mars Hill University for the spring 2021 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 on a minimum of 12 semester hours, and carry no grade below a C.

Piedmont University

Piedmont University congratulates the nearly 250 students who were named Dean’s Scholars for the Spring 2021 semester. Students named as a Dean’s Scholar finished the semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

The list includes: Caleb Medrano, Alfred Roberts, Katherine Stigall, all of Richmond Hill.

Berry College

The Dean’s List honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester. From Richmond Hill, Julia Lester and Sydney Strickland.

Georgia Southwestern

Caroline Infinger, a resident of Richmond Hill, made the Spring 2021 Dean’s List at Georgia Southwestern State University and was among 612 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher and take a minimum of 12 credit hours.

USC-Sumter

Maggie Hunter of Richmond Hill was among more than 100 students who made the Dean’s List in the Spring 2021 semester. To reach this academic achievement, students must maintain a grade point average of 3.50 or higher earned on a minimum of 12 credited semester hours at the end of the previous semester.

Valdosta State

More than 1,700 students were named to Valdosta State University’s Spring 2021 Dean’s List.

Dean’s List honors are reserved for the highest achieving students at VSU. To qualify students must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher.

Please note that developmental studies, transient, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean’s List status. Those from Richmond Hill include: Samantha Filer, Nicholas Hahn, Savannah Hill, John Tucker, Jaden Jackson, Kaleigh Filer, Gabrielle Howell and Morgan Robertson.

Austin Peay

Austin Peay State University is proud to recognize Herman Jex from Richmond Hill as one of the students named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement during Spring 2021.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or greater.

Kennesaw State

Kennesaw State University recently named students to the President’s List in recognition of their academic excellence for the Spring 2021 semester.

To achieve this honor, each undergraduate student must have completed at least 9 semester hours with a term grade point average of 4.0. From Richmond hill are: Chelsea Pham, Parker Smith, Peyton Butler, Jordan Ryan, Haley Keller, Mercy Mondt and Rachel Lindow. SNHU Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the Winter 2021 Dean’s List. The winter term runs from January to May.

Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 are named to the Dean’s List.

From Bryan County are Samantha Skipper of Ellabell and Robert Stinson of Richmond Hill.

UGA

Dy’Amond McGhee of Pembroke made the Dean’s List for the Spring semester at the University of Georgia.

Coastal Carolina

More than 2,100 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2021 semester, including Aaron Bedgood, a Management Pre-Major major from Richmond Hill.

Students who make the Dean’s List have achieved a grade point average between 3.5-3.99 for the semester.

Kennesaw State

Kennesaw State University recently named students to the Dean’s List in recognition of their academic excellence for the Spring 2021 semester. To achieve this honor, each undergraduate student must have completed at least 9 semester hours with a term grade point average of 3.5.

Among the students honored were Emily Sullivan, Alexander Eubanks, Nayeli Vinasco, Castle Kroleski, Andrew Nguyen, Stanley Brandon, Heather Clifford, Jessica Mikrut, Isabella Perry, Justin McPhillips, Bryce Eads and Christian Gehrke, all of Richmond Hill.

USC-Beaufort

University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is proud to announce that Marquis Sparks of Richmond Hill has been named a Spring 2021 Chancellor’s List honoree. To be eligible for the Chancellor’s List, students must obtain a term grade point average of 3.50 or higher earned on a minimum of 12 credited semester hours.

Georgia State

More than 4,000 students graduated from Georgia State University at the associate’s, bachelor’s and graduate levels during the Spring 2021 semester.

From Richmond Hill were Andrew Korn, BA, political science; Jazlyn Martin, BBA, marketing; Tiaras Polite, Bachelor’s of interdisciplinary studies, sports administration.

Furman

More than 350 members of Furman’s class of 2020 returned to campus this year for a special in-person graduation ceremony. Margaret Nivens of Richmond Hill, graduated cum laude with a BS in economics and politics and international Affairs.
