The following local students have achieved academic honors at the collegiate level.

Alfred Roberts and Machaela Smith, both of Richmond Hill were named to the Piedmont College Director of Athletics Honor Roll. In all, 185 student-athletes (49.5 percent) were named to the honor roll, the most in recent memory. Of those, 166 earned a 3.5 grade point average or better and 70 attained a 4.0.

Mary Blue of Richmond Hill has been named to the provost’s list at Troy University in Troy, Alabama, for the fall semester/ term 2 of the 2019-20 academic year. The provost’s list honors full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65. 

Several Richmond Hill students were recently named to the dean’s list at Valdosta State University for the fall semester, including Samantha Filer, Hayley Glausier, Nicholas Hahn, John Tucker, Abigail Workman and Mia Workman. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the dean’s list.
