Spirit of Peace Lutheran Church is currently building its new church home on Hwy. 144 in South Bryan County. To help furnish the sanctuary, members of Spirit of Peace Youth participated in a 16-hour fundraiser called Rock For Chairs.
The group received pledges from family, friends, neighbors and local businesses as they “rocked the night away” in rocking chairs. They began the event in the North Buckhead clubhouse on April 30 and completed their rocking on the morning of May 1 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel on Ford Avenue.
During a recent worship service, it was announced that $4,500 was raised for the purchase of 100 sanctuary chairs.
