YMCA starts annual campaign

The YMCA of Coastal Georgia, which includes the Y in Richmond Hill, is launching its annual community support campaign, Priceless Gifts, and hopes to raise $600,000 to help make sure that everyone can benefit from the Y, regardless of their income, or background.
Every day, the YMCA of Coastal Georgia serves as a gathering place for the community.  Kids pour in after school to play and do homework. Seniors meet for luncheons, group activities and to connect with one another. Teens gather for programs such as Teen Achievers and learn valuable career and college readiness skills. Adults come to a place where they have the time to focus on their personal wellness and health.
“We all need the Y because our organization works every day to nurture the potential of kids, improve health and well-being and help neighbors support one another,” said Rachel Meuser Bowman, director of development, YMCA of Coastal Georgia. “With our community support campaign, we want more people to understand that we are more than where to go to exercise or swim — and that we rely on their financial support to do our vital work.”
This year’s goal is $600,000. Funds raised help young people achieve their potential, empower people of all ages to lead healthier lives and strengthen the bonds of community across Coastal Georgia.
As a leading nonprofit for strengthening community, financial gifts to the Y will help advance programming and services that locally support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. More importantly, gifts to the YMCA of Coastal Georgia make a direct impact on residents right here in the Coastal Empire.
