Ashton Leann Griffin and Peter Francis Gibson III (Trey) were united in marriage on June 21 at the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church in Richmond Hill. The Reverend Dale Simmons officiated.

The bride is the daughter of George and Cynthia Griffin of Richmond Hill. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Alese Griffon of Jacksonville, Fla., and the late Mr. George C. Griffin of Savannah, Mrs. Erma Nelson of Hinesville and the late Mr. Charles Nelson of Hinesville; and the great granddaughter of Mr. Michael Salnikoff of Savannah.

The groom is the son of Tim and Jamie Gibson of Richmond Hill. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson Taylor of Savannah, Mrs. Ann Gibson of Norway, S.C. and the late Mr. Peter F. Gibson, Sr., of Orangeburg, S.C., the late Mr. James Bennett of Johnsonville, S.C.; and the great grandson of Mrs. Ruby Scott of Savannah.

Ashton wore a white satin gown. The upper bodice was made of lace and decorated with pearls. She wore pearls given to her as a gift from the groom. The back of the dress had satin covered buttons the entire length of the train. She wore a waist length veil made by the maternal grandmother of the groom. She carried a bouquet of white roses with small pink roses. She was escorted by her father.

Ashton chose her sister, Laura Jesser of Atlanta as her matron of honor and Jennifer Slate of Richmond Hill as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were her friends, Jennifer Boykin of Richmond Hill, Krista Huggins of Richmond Hill, and Lauren Caines of Rincon. Flower girl was Ariel Simmons of Savannah.

Trey’s best men were his brothers, Jonathan Gibson and Jared Gibson of Richmond Hill. Groomsmen were his friends, Brian Pearl, Johnathan Boykin and Thomas Casey all of Richmond Hill. Ring bearer was Ross LeLoup, cousin of the groom of Savannah.

Greeters were Haley Taylor of Richmond Hill and Kimberly Gibson of Racine Wisc., both cousins of the groom. Vocalist was Lauren Castillo of Pooler.

After the ceremony, the reception was held at The Ford Plantation in Richmond Hill, where the guests enjoyed dinner and dancing with music provided by Moon River Productions.

After a honeymoon cruise visiting ports of call in Key West, Cozumel and Belize City, the couple returned to Orlando, Fla., and spent a few days at Disney World.

The couple makes their home in Savannah, where the bride works at St. Joseph/Candler and Cedar Animal Hospital and attends AASU and the groom works for Alltel Corporation and attends AASU.
