WaterWays Township celebrated its first holiday season Saturday with the inaugural Homes for the Holidays open house.
Visitors toured three model homes in various stages of construction in the 2,300-acre community and enjoyed hayrides, hot cocoa and photos with Santa during the all day event.
The homes were decorated for the holidays and featured paintings by local artists, gifts from Ella’s and sweets from All Things Chocolate.
“We just wanted to celebrate the season and open up the community,” said Vince Askew, marketing and sales director for WaterWays. “This is our first holiday season, and we’re hoping to create some traditions.”
Jade Lewis attended the open house with her husband and three children. The family recently purchased a home in the development and is scheduled to move in next month.
“We’re looking forward to owning our own home, and we just love the natural environment here,” she said. “We came tonight to see everything — the new house, Santa, hayrides. We can’t wait to move in.”
