More than 100 children were screened during a vision-screening event July 20 at First Baptist Church.
The event was sponsored by Richmond Hill YMCA Director Ryan Hudson, with the testing done by members of the Lions Club. According to a press release, 111 children were tested at the event, and six of those children were referred to a physician for additional testing.
Chip Nedza and Terry Nedza, members of the Wilmington Island Lions Club, operated the vision machines.
They were assisted by Richmond Hill Lions Club members Ronny Gerrald, Jeff and Delores Derrick, Steve Stevens and Ouieda Sisco.
