The steering committee for the Unity in the Park Festival recently had its first meeting. The fsetival is set for May 31 in J.F. Gregory Park
Among those who attended the planning meeting were Sharon Butts, coordinator of Unity in the Community, Justin Toney of the Served and Not Forgotten-blog talk show, Bill Pollard of The Ice Cream Stop and Samose Mays with the South Bryan County Recreation Department.
“We are grateful for the amazing sense of community that has formed around this festival,” Butts said. “I’m also thrilled that so many people have fully committed themselves in wanting to see more community love between the diversity of people that live here.”
