KRABI, Thailand A Thai construction worker is receiving high praise after a video shows him using his body as a blank to help two Norwegian tourists who were stranded in knee-deep mud.

According to the Associated Press, the couple was photographing birds near the Krabi River Friday when they become stuck on a mud flat. Chat Ubonchinda, a construction worker who was on a fishing trip, spotted the couple in distress and left his boat to help.

The incident was captured on two different videos: one from YouTube user Panorama Thailand, and one from Theerasak Saksritawee, who posted the video on Facebook.

When Ubonchinda couldnt pull the couple free, he laid down in the mud to use his body as a plank so the couple could each leverage their legs from the suctioning mud. Ubonchinda even reaches down to physically pull out the male tourists feet after the man still cant get out on his own, and the tourist even crawls across Ubonchindas prostrate body to get to a safer spot.

When the man is finally free from the suctioning mud, it appears in the video that it is difficult for him to stand and walk, which may indicate the couple was stuck for a while.

Saksritawees Facebook post had garnered over 2 million views as of Monday night, with many commenters praising Ubonchindas selfless act, calling him a hero with no expectation of a reward.
