It's something many people may take for granted the ability to breathe and talk.

A YouTube video published Thursday shows Trevor Sullivan, 15, waking up after his November heart transplant.

Ive been waiting so long for this, Trevor said in the video. Im just so happy. I can breathe again and talk.

On Nov. 13, Trevor, from Detroit, had heart transplant surgery. His journey to receive a heart transplant started in February 2015. According to a GoFundMe page, Trevors heart rate was highly irregular.

A normal heart rate for a 14-year-old is 85-100; his was 180-200, according to the page.

His mother told ABC News that Trevor asked her to record the moment he woke up from the surgery.

"Honestly, for me, I didn't know what to expect, Kimberly Sullivan told ABC News. I kind of thought he'd wake up disoriented and in pain, but instead he woke up happy, ready to go and pleased with what he was going through.

According to a post from Trevor's dad on Facebook, the family uploaded the video to raise awareness for organ donation.

As you have seen, we are only one of many, many families that have had to go through this traumatic life experience, either on the recipient or on the donor side, Philip Sullivan wrote.
