The Pew Research Center unveiled its 17 most striking findings for 2017 in a post earlier this week.

Pew often studies a variety of topics for the U.S. and world. Many of these findings relate to religion, family life, media and politics.

The most striking findings included: President Donald Trump has made an impact on the United States' reputation, about 4-in-10 Americans say they live in a gun-owning household, and Democrats and Republicans disagree over the media's role as a watchdog, among many other findings.

Weve pulled out two of Pews striking findings that we reported on. You can see the full report here.

  • Muslims will likely be the worlds fastest-growing religious group in the next few decade. Pew found that Muslims will see a 70 percent increase in size from 2015 to 20160. That exceeds the Christian religions growth of 34 percent and Hinduisms growth of 27 percent. The Deseret News unpacked many of the studys findings earlier this year.

  • Pew also found that women and men have different views on the causes of fundamental differences between the two genders. Women, for example, are more likely than men to point to societal factors as why the two genders have such vast differences. The Deseret News reported on this study from Pew, pointing out that men and women face unchanging expectations, while the world around them has changed dramatically.
