For many parents with babies -- especially first-time parents -- a crying baby can be difficult to handle.

At times it may seem that there is nothing you or your spouse can do to console your crying child.

You try to play a guessing game that no one seems to win.

Wouldnt it be so nice if you could just understand what your baby means when he cries? Well, a new app called Cry Translator may be the answer to your prayers.

The app, which is available in the App Store, records 10 seconds of your baby's cries and then tells you what the infant needs.

Then the app tells you whether your baby is hungry, hurting, sleepy, or has a wet diaper.

Is this too good to be true?

Apparently, the apps developers say it is 92 percent accurate for babies younger than two weeks old.

The app took two years to research, and its developers recorded over 200,000 crying episodes from over 100 different babies. The researchers then correlated the data to allow the app to interpret babies' needs based on their type of cry.

There is no medical or childcare knowledge that is necessary to use it. So there you go -- now you can understand your adorable baby, and hopefully catch a few more z's.
