KENTON COUNTY, Ky. A deers acrobatic skill was caught on video by a police cruisers dashcam over the Thanksgiving weekend.

An officer from Kentuckys Kenton County Police Department was cruising down Decoursey Pike in Visalia when the large deer made an abrupt appearance. The department shared the incredible dashcam video of the deer performing a triple axel over the patrol car on its Facebook page Tuesday.

The police department joked that the deer appeared to be agile and acrobatically trained. After colliding with the cruiser, it quickly popped back up and made its escape into the woods.

We did place a call to Santa just to be sure this deer didn't belong to him (we would hate to end up on the naughty list), the police department wrote. He was quick to point out that he employs reindeer and that, although this deer did appear to fly, it was not a reindeer (we still aren't clear whether we will be making the nice list or not).

Fortunately, the officer wasnt injured in the collision. In fact, his cruiser only sustained a dent near the headlight. Its relatively small considering the size of the deer.

Police said the video is a good example of how to act if a furry friend crosses the road in front of you. When the officer spotted the deer heading his way, he steadily steered away from it while applying his brakes, according to police.
