Teen block party Friday
Weekly FMWR briefing for April 13-19
postwide yard sale
The annual postwide garage sale for both Fort Stewart and Hunter is set for April 25.

All CYSS-registered youth in grades 1-5 are invited to a free Block Party from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the School Age Center at 97 Austin Road. The party, part of the celebration of the Month of the Military Child, will include games, food and prizes. Scramble Shootout
A two-person golf scramble shootout at Hunter Golf Course will get start at 2 p.m. Saturday.
For $70 each two-person team and will get greens fees, cart, range balls and prizes. Prize distribution will be determined by the size of the field.
Registration will be accepted until Tuesday.

Dave & Buster’s trip

Garage sale
The Great FMWR Post-Wide Housing Garage Sale is scheduled from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 25 at Fort Stewart and Hunter.
Only residents of post housing are eligible to sell, but everyone can shop, including civilians. Gate passes for civilian guests may be obtained two days in advance from Gate 1 at Stewart and the Montgomery Street gate at Hunter.

Bridal Expo
If there’s a wedding in your future, you won’t want to miss the Bridal Event & Expo at Club Stewart from 1:30-4:30 p.m. April 26.
You can meet a range of professionals who can help plan a wedding.
Preview trends in table design, flowers, cakes, catering and décor. Learn about hair and beauty, jewelry and fashion, limousines, and fashion.
Cost is $7 per person in advance and $10 at the door and includes an hors d’oeuvres buffet.
Brides-to-be will be get swag bags, and are invited to pre-register by April 24 for an opportunity to win a $500 reception gift certificate.

Rifle shoot
A Large Caliber Rifle Shoot will be from 2-6 p.m. May 1 at Small Arms November Range on Fort Stewart. The cost is $5 per two-hour block/person. All weapons must be registered on Fort Stewart. For more information, call 767-4316.

Cosmic Bowling
On Fridays and Saturdays, May 1-Aug. 22, unlimited bowling is $5 per person from 7 p.m. until closing at Marne Bowling Center. Shoe rental is not included. For more information, call 767-4866.

Coastal tour
Take a two to three-hour eco-exploration tour of Turners Creek on May 2. Travel through marshlands to discover the wonders of Coastal Georgia. Narration will include history, ecology and relationships in the ecosystem. Register until April 20. Cost of $30 per person.

Latin Bistro Night
Latin dishes will be featured on Bistro Night May 7, the first Thursday of the month, from 5-8 p.m. Enjoy a salad bar, 2-3 appetizer buffet, themed entrée choices and dessert. Bar service is available.

Racquetball tournament
A women's and men's single, double-elimination racquetball tournament will be May 7-9 at Newman and Johnson Fitness centers.
There’s no charge for the non-sanctioned competition, but participants are asked to register at either center by April 27.
There will be one event per person. First- and second-place medals will be awarded in all divisions.

Brews and Bites
Give your taste buds a treat at the Stewart/Hunter 75th Anniversary Brews & Bites at 5 p.m. May 15 at Hunter Club.
Chat with a Service Brewing Co. sommelier as you taste brews produced by the Savannah brewery. Chefs will prepare hors d’oeuvres to pair with featured beers at four sampling stations.
Buy advance tickets, at $25 per person, until May 12 at Club Stewart or Hunter Club. Tickets are $30 after May 12. The event can accommodate 100 persons. The public is welcome.

Explore Macon

N.C. weekend
Visit an Indian village, see the arts and crafts, native dancing and tour the museum while learning about the Trail of Tears during a weekend trip to Cherokee, N.C., June 12-14.
Other activities will include a night at Harrah’s Casino and a stop at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. The cost is $600 for up to four people per room. Fee includes transportation and a two-night stay at the Cherokee Grand Hotel. Biltmore tour is an additional cost.
