Swampfest in Waycross Apirl 2-3

If April is just around the corner it can mean only one thing- the annual Swampfest Festival will be here soon. So mark your calendars for April 2-3 and get ready for a great weekend in downtown Waycross.

The Swampfest Committee is pleased to announce that this year's festival will be even bigger and better than ever. The festival opens on Friday night at 5:00 p.m. with all the great arts and crafts and foods vendors. Friday night will also have free presentations of the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, Crusisin Line Dancers, Okefenokee Joe and then at 8:00 p.m. the musical group "Just June" will take center stage - all free to the public.

Saturday will be a jam packed day for Swamfpest goers. In addition to all the vendors you can participate in a Community Fitness Class by Anytime Fitness. The Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show and Okefenokee Joe will again present shows for the public. In addition, there will be the ever popular Dairy Queen Dilly Bar Eating Contest, the Waycross Jaycees Hot Dog Eating Contest and the Coca-Cola Chug a Lug Contest. And don't forget the Simons Bed Race down Tebeau Street. Don Berryhill - will have a special presentation on the Okefenokee Swamp Park and there will be cloggers and a karate presentation.

And of course, what better way to end the Swamfpest Festival, then with a free concert by The Swingin' Medallions - the party band of the south. So plan on coming out to the Annual Swampfest Festival, April 2-3, 2010 in downtown Waycross and enjoy all the vendors and activities that the committee has planned for the weekend.
