The Coastal Empire Council Boy Scouts of America will sponsor Summerfest 2012 on July 22-23 at the Savannah Civic Center.

Summerfest is a fun, indoor summer camp experience for youth ages 14-19. This is a chance for teens to try a zip line, rock wall, rope climb, flying squirrel, football toss and other fun physical challenges. There will also be a basketball clinic with Harlem Globetrotters legends Eugene Raines and Gregory Stafford.

In addition, dozens of local business professionals will be volunteering their time to conduct career competitions and interactive demonstrations in the following career areas: law enforcement, firefighter, engineering, medical and legal careers.

Reservation forms, a complete schedule of activities and other helpful information may be found at www.bsasavannah.org or by calling Barbara Foley at 308-7892.

• Adult volunteer opportunities

Adult volunteers are needed to help with check-in, as well as to help with the various activities and career competitions.

The Coastal Empire Council is looking for individuals, youth groups, churches and associations to be a part of this special fun event for teens. Email Barbara Foley at bfoley@bsamail.org to sign up as a volunteer.

• Vendor opportunities

There will be room for vendors to set up information tables at Summerfest 2012. Free booth space may be arranged by providing volunteer support, interactive demos or other in-kind resources at the event.

To be a part of this event, call 308-7892 for details.
