Operation Rising Star
Singers from Stewart and Hunter are invited to compete in Operation Rising Star, the Army’s version of “American Idol.”
Register at Stewart Recreation office, suite 125, or at the Hunter Leisure Travel Office. There is no charge. Competition is open to active duty, National Guard or Reserve from any branch of service, and family members who are at least 18.

Leisure Travel is planning a trip to the Meinhardt Vineyards and Winery near Statesboro on Sept. 14. The trip begins at 11 a.m.

A Bridal Showcase, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday in the Club Stewart Ballroom, will feature a variety of businesses and wedding experts. The 10thannual Blues & BBQ Festival, featuring music, food, fun and free kids activities, will be staged in downtown Hinesville from 2-11:30 p.m. on Sept. 21.

Rock Strongman, Strongwoman
