The Savannah Music Festival, Georgia's largest musical arts festival, kicked off Thursday and runs through April 3.
It is one of the most distinctive, cross-genre music festivals in the world. Organizers say it is devoted to living, vibrant musical traditions, regularly presenting commissioned works, unique and imaginative productions and rare regional appearances by renowned artists in jazz, classical, blues, bluegrass, gospel and other styles of American and international roots music.
