RH Hatchery event marks Hunting and Fishing Day

SOCIAL CIRCLE — Events and activities, including a free fishing day, are planned across the state in honor of National Hunting and Fishing Day, which is Sept. 22, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division.

In Bryan County, a free fishing event will be from 8 a.m. to noon at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery on Ford Avenue. Kids fishing ponds will be open to children ages 15 and under. Participants will need to bring their own fishing gear and bait. Archery, kayaking and the Laser Shot hunting simulator will be available, along with free hot dogs and drinks.
