Caribbean cruise

Float trips
Join Outdoor Recreation on a leisurely canoe/kayak float down a coastal Georgia river on July 19 or Aug. 16.

Indoor triathlon
Men and women are invited to compete in the Mini Indoor Triathlon July 21-25 at Newman Fitness Center on Stewart or Tominac Fitness Center on Hunter. There’s no charge.

Top contestants will win prizes, based on distance recorded in 10-minute swims and tread-mill runs, plus 20 minutes on a stationary bike.

Company golf tourney
A company-level golf scramble on July 22 will prove who has the best four-player team in the 3rd ID.

Bring your school-aged child to register for the 2014-15 Liberty County school year July 23 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Registration will take place at your school.

Back to school fairs
Community Activities, Information and Registration and Back to School Fairs at Stewart and Hunter will give soldiers and families a one-stop place to learn about the community, including recreation, cultural opportunities, restaurants, local businesses, civic and social organizations, health care and education at any grade level.
The Stewart fair will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 24 at Newman Fitness Center. The Hunter fair will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 30 at Tominac Fitness Center.
United Military Care Organization representatives will give out free, age-appropriate school supplies. To receive them, military families must present their ID card and their children must be present.

Deep-sea fishing
Join Leisure Travel on an 8- to 10-hour, offshore fishing trip departing Jekyll Island Marina July 26 at 5 a.m.

Skeet, trap shoot
Hunter Army Airfield’s Skeet and Trap Range will have a 50-bird skeet/trap shoot from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. July 26. The range is off South Perimeter Road. Register by July 24.
