Civilian are welcome to visit either Fort Stewart or Hunter Army Airfield for the Post-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday.
The sales at Stewart and Hunter will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at post residences only. No sales will be conducted at either the Club Stewart parking lot on Stewart or the Credit Union parking lot at Hunter.
Already, more than 65 home sites – at least 50 at Stewart and 15 at Hunter – are registered to take part in the sales. Some yard sales will be multi-family efforts, increasing the variety of items and bargain opportunities for buyers.
To enter the post, the vehicle’s driver must present registration, proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license. Passengers in the vehicle also must present a photo ID.
Maps giving the location of sale sites on Hunter will be given out from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Rio Gate and at Hunter’s Main Gate on Montgomery Street.
At Fort Stewart, maps will be given out from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Main Gate and Gate 5, the gate most often used by residents of Pembroke and Glennville.
This fall’s Post-Wide Yard Sale complements Operation Fall Clean-up, an installation-wide beautification, restoration and recycling effort at Stewart and Hunter.
