It’s time to sort your stuff and sign up to sell what you don’t want at the semi-annual MWR yard sale at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.
Registration for the sale is open.
“Last year, we filled up the Club Stewart parking lot and we had to cut off the registration about a week before the sale,” said intramural sports director Randy Walker, who is coordinating the sale.
Club Stewart can accommodate 100 to 120 sellers, he said.
The sale will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in the club’s parking lot and in the credit union parking lot at Hunter Army Airfield. Many post residents also will host individual sales.
Registration deadline for post housing sales is Oct. 19. The deadline for parking lot registration is Oct. 22.
Vendors (active duty soldiers, family members, retirees and DoD civilians) will be charged $5 for a space. At Club Stewart, the first 40 vendors to sign up will get tables. All others must furnish their own table.
Rental tables will be available for $5 each.
There is no charge for residents who put on their own sales at post housing, but pre-registration is required. Addresses of on-post housing sale sites will be highlighted on maps that will be distributed to shoppers.
Sellers can sign up at Bennett Sports Complex, building 471, or Tominac Fitness Center, building 919. For details, call 767-8238 at Fort Stewart or 912-315-2019 at HAAF.
A sale of excess non-appropriated funds property will be conducted simultaneously with the MWR yard sale.
