Leisure Travel sets trip to Charleston

Turkey Trot Fun Run
A Turkey Trot Fun Run, a 5K or 1.5 mile run/walk geared toward families, will be on Perimeter Road on Hunter Army Airfield starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. The run is free.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. that day. The run will begin at Stephen Douglas Street. A clock will be set up at the finish line so participants can see how they did.

Turkey Bowl at Hunter Lanes

Italian Favorites on Thunder Run Menu
Italian favorites, one of the four Internationally Inspired Cuisine Night offerings, are on the menu Nov. 23 at Club Stewart's Thunder Run restaurant.
Latin, German and American favorites also are on the rotating menu.
Service is every Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Thunder Run. The cost is $9.95 per adult and half-price for children ages 5-10. There is no charge for children 4 and under.

Turkey Egg Hunt at Cypress Creek
Not all the turkeys will be gobbled up on Thanksgiving Day, and those that escape will leave some eggs in the Adventure Golf facility.
Children up to age 5 are invited to help find the eggs in the annual Turkey Egg Hunt starting at 10 a.m. Nov. 28. There's no charge. The hunt will end when all eggs have been found. For more information, call 767-4273.

Sign-ups Under Way for Hunter Skeet/Trap Event
Registration has begun for Hunter Army Airfield's quarterly Skeet/Trap Shoot, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Hunter Skeet/Trap range off South Perimeter Road.
The cost is $25 for skeet or trap (50 birds); or $40 for skeet and trap (100 birds). Lunch is included. Sign-ups will be accepted on the day of the event, beginning at 9 a.m.
Safety briefing and flights set-up will begin at 9:45 a.m. Three fields will be utilized, two for skeet and one for trap, and flights will be fired every 45 minutes starting at 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded after the shoot, including winners and door prizes. Participants must be present to win.
The competition will include:
Skeet division (50 birds) - expert, intermediate, novice, youth and ladies.
Trap - one division (50 birds), with all skill levels combined.
Skeet and Trap - one division (100 birds), all skill levels combined.

MLK Basketball Tournament
The first of what is to become the annual Martin Luther King Basketball Tournament will be held at Newman Fitness Center from Jan. 13-15.
Registration is under way.
The competition will consist of a round-robin, team seeding play, with a maximum of 12 teams in the competition. The tournament also will include a slam dunk contest and a 3-point shootout contest
The entry fee for military is $150 per team. The cost for non-military competitors is $200 per team. The cost is $10 per individual for the slam dunk and 3-point shooting contests.
All teams must be signed up by Jan. 6 and must present a roster with a minimum of seven players. Awards will be presented to first and second-place teams.
