July Fourth activities set for historic site

Fort Morris State Historic Site will host its annual Independence Day Colonial Faire from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

There’ll be games of skill, prizes, live colonial music, musket and cannon firing and opening/closing ceremonies. Visitors also will be able to meet some of the Georgia Signers of the Declaration of Independence.

The event is free to the public and is sponsored by the Liberty County Visitors Bureau, city of Flemington and the Friends of Fort Morris.

Fort Morris is seven miles east of I-95, Exit 76, near Midway. Follow the brown Liberty Trail signs.
