Set your 2014 fitness goals. Attend the free Aerobic-Thon and Mini-Health Fair from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 25 at Tominac Fitness Center.

Sample classes in kick-boxing, step, zumba, line-dancing, pilates and more. The fair includes nutritional information and screenings. Also, sign up for the 10-Pound Challenge to lose weight. Soldiers, family members, retirees, Army civilians and guests are invited.

Learn golf quickly at a free “Golf 4 Life” clinic at Hunter Golf Course from 9-10 a.m. Jan. 25.

It is one of a series of clinics and each covers a new topic. Beginners can learn the basics, while novices can improve. There is a priority sign-up for active duty.

Swamp trip

Be face-to-face with the inhabitants and scenery of the majestic Okefenokee Swamp on a Leisure Travel trip Feb. 1 to Waycross. Registration ends Jan. 27.

Black history tour

Take the Freedom Trail tour in Savannah Feb. 8 with Leisure Travel and see remnants of the Underground Railroad and where “free persons of color” lived during slavery times. See where slaves were brought and sold and old communities, as well as Savannah's African American monument.

The costs are $30 for adults and $20 for children (ages 6-12) which includes transportation and tour. Registration will close Feb. 3.

Couples are invited to a romantic night out from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 14 at Thunder Run Restaurant in Club Stewart. The cost is $35 per couple for a four-course meal and music.

Dress your toddlers up in their best tutu or bow tie for a Valentine’s Day Party at Corkan Family Fun Center, from 10 a.m.-noon on Feb. 14. Corkan will provide the drinks and parents are asked to bring treats to share.

Cardboard regatta

Put your ingenuity to work building a cardboard boat and you might win a prize during the Cardboard Boat Regatta at Tominac Fitness Center’s Indoor Pool on Feb. 22 starting at 10 a.m.

Active duty, family members and other facility users are welcome to participate. There’s no charge to enter.

The idea is to use only cardboard and duct tape to build a boat that will make it the length of the pool with a two-person crew. There are three categories: kids, kid/adult, and adult. There also will be a prize for the best-looking boat.

Depending on number of entries, categories might be combined.

Soldier retreat

Join BOSS for a single-soldier retreat weekend of fishing, hiking, swimming and everything else Coffee County State Park in Nicholls has to offer March 7-9. The park has 14 miles of hiking area.
