Historic sites set Junior Ranger camps

Area state historic sites are gearing up for Junior Ranger Camps early next month.

Fort Morris’ camp in east Liberty County will be from June 7-11 for children ages 7-12. Fort King George in Darien will have its from June 14-18 for children 8-12. Both are day camps and require registration.

The staff at Fort Morris, along with guests, will conduct nature activities, craft projects, historical demonstrations and more for this year’s Junior Ranger event.

The camp’s theme is Bubbles, Birds and Battles and runs 9 a.m. to noon each day.

In Darien, junior rangers will experience nature during activities and educational programs specific to coastal Georgia. Highlights will include team building activities with the theme being the connectivity of things in a whimsical Rube Goldberg fashion.

Activities run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $50 per camper. Call 912-437-4770 or go to www.gastateparks.org/fortkinggeorge for more information, or to register your camper.

King George is at 302 McIntosh Road SE, Darien. Fort Morris is at 2559 Fort Morris Road, Midway.
