Join the fun at Club Stewart’s Halloween Bash, starting at 9 p.m. Friday. Enjoy DJFreaksho, drink specials and a costume contest. There’s a $7 cover charge. Patrons must be 18 or older to enter, and at least 21 to drink.

CG's golf scramble

All are invited to Maj. Gen. Mike Murray’s four-person scramble Friday at Taylors Creek Golf Course. Play begins at 1 p.m.

The $35 per person registration includes and golf cart, driving range and prizes. Players are asked to register by Thursday.

Toddler Halloween

Celebrate Halloween with a costume party at 10 a.m. Friday at Stewart Bowling Center. Dress up your little ones and go trick-or-treating. Stewart Bowling provides the site, party spread and Capri Sun beverage for all little trick-or-treaters. Free party, $1 per game of bowling and free shoe use.

Body building contest  

The Rock Body Building and Figure Contest will be Saturday at Woodruff Theater on Fort Stewart.

Weigh-in will be at 8 a.m., prejudging at10 and finals at 6:30 p.m. The cost for spectators is $5 for pre-judging and $10 for the finals. Spectators 13 and under are free.

Hot air balloons on Hunter

Hot air balloons along with local school band and comedians will beat the Red, White and Blue Hot Air Balloon Festival Nov. 1-2 at Saber Hall, Hunter.

Hours are 6:30-10 a.m. and 4-8 p.m. Nov. 1 and 6:30-10 a.m. Nov. 2. Tethered balloon rides, at $5 per person, will be offered each morning.

The festival also will include military displays, candy walk, pay-as-you-go inflatables and food vendors.

The public is invited. Admission donation optional.

Hunter CYSS moving

CYSS Parent Central Services at Hunter will relocate to 304 N. Perimeter Road on Nov. 3. Hours will continue to be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-noon Friday. The phone number is 315-5425.

 

Basketball league

Register by Nov. 21 for the Company-Level Basketball League. Play begins Dec. 8 and continues through March at Newman and Tominac fitness centers. Games played Monday through Thursday. Companies interested in playing need to submit a letter of intent to play to Bennett Sports Complex, at Stewart or Squires Sports Offices at Hunter. Managed hunts

Soldiers and retirees can sign up for one of the two remaining Outdoor Recreation managed hunts at Fort Stewart this season. Sign up at the Stewart or Hunter Pass and Permit offices.

Registration for the Nov. 8 hunt has closed. Another hunt will be Nov. 22 in the Red Cloud Area and the registration deadline is Nov. 12. The third hunt will be in the Bravo 4 area Dec. 20, with a signup deadline of Dec. 10.

Fifty participants for each hunt will be selected by lottery. A $10 fee is payable upon selection.

Thanksgiving to-go

Orders will be taken Nov. 3-21 for Club Stewart’s no mess, no stress Thanksgiving to-go meals. Order turkey and ham by the pound (10-pound minimum), plus sides of mashed potatoes, Southern green bean casserole, baked macaroni and cheese, cornbread stuffing and sweet potato or pumpkin pie.

Select a package, or build your own option. Last day for pickup will be Nov. 26.

Ski the Smokeys

Registration runs to Dec. 31 for a Leisure Travel trip to go sightseeing, shopping, skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing in Gatlinburg, Tenn., Jan. 16-18.

The cost is $450 for 1-4 persons per room stay and includes motor coach transportation to the  Smokey Mountains. There is an additional $50 charge for a fifth person.
