Here are four movies from various platforms families may want to consider, as recommended by Ok.com. Note: Since not all are appropriate for younger children, age recommendations are included.

In theaters: 'Tomorrowland'

Common Sense Media refers to Tomorrowland as being tween-friendly, highlighting the films clearly positive messages about using innovation, invention and engineering to make the future a brighter, better place. The website notes, however, that the film depicts its main characters in near-constant peril and contains some startlingly violent action sequences, including robots that shoot and kill people in several scenes, instantly disintegrating them, and some cut-off profanity. Ok.com recommends the film for viewers ages 11 and older.

Amazon Instant: 'Bolt'

The Dove Foundation gave Bolt its Family-Approved seal, stating that the film is surprisingly good and is sure to make children and adults laugh all the way to the credits. The website indicates that there are a few scenes that may be too intense for young viewers. Ok.com recommends the film for viewers ages 6 and older.

Netflix: 'Turbo'

Parents Television Council says Turbo is a family-friendly delight, which unlike many movies allegedly made for children today, contains no profanity or adult innuendo. The website cites themes of working hard and sticking to ones dreams as some of the films highlights. Ok.com recommends the film for viewers ages 5 and older.

Amazon Prime: 'The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland'

This 73-minute film features many "Sesame Street" favorites, including Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, along with Elmo. MovieGuide.org said the film contains silly songs and a few jokes that parents can even appreciate as well as basic lessons of sharing and caring. The film is rated G. Ok.com recommends the film for viewers ages 6 and older.
